Homemade Laundry Detergent - More Bang For Your Buck!

Liquid Laundry Detergent:

1 / 3 cup Fels-naptha soap bar ®, grated 1 / 2 soda 1 / 2 cup Borax Washing Cup

6 cups of water in a pan and heat with the Fels-naptha soap bar until broken ®. Melt the 1 / 2 cup washing soda, 1 / 2 cup borax, and stir into mixture. Remove from heat. In a two gallon bucket, put 1 quart of warm water, add the soap. Mix. Fill the bucket with cold water. Mix well until blended. Set aside for 24 hours. It will gel a little, but mostly is a liquid. Shake or stir before using t mix. Each load 1 / 2 cup use.

Powder Laundry Detergent:

1 Fels-naptha soap bar ® cup, grated 1 / 2 cup washing soda 1 / 2 cup borax

For a light load, use 1 tsp. For heavy or heavily soiled loads, use 2 tsp.

Fels-naptha ® Laundry soap bar soap bar or in your regular supermarket's laundry aisle. If you can not find it, try instead of Ivory or Octagon soap.

Super Washing Soda: Washing soda is found in your supermarket's laundry detergent aisle. Baking soda should not be used in place of washing soda. They are completely different products.

Borax: Also found in the laundry detergent aisle. 20 Mule Team Borax ® is a brand name.
